RCC Grabs Another Lopsided Victory
A day after setting a new record for most runs in a single game, Riverside City College put together another big inning to grab an 18-1 victory over West LA College.
The Tigers improve to 12-5 on the year, while the Wildcats drop to 2-13 overall.
RCC finished with 19 hits in the game with Bubba Heidler leading the way. The sophomore went 5-for-5 at the plate with five RBIs and three runs scored. Josh Chairez followed, finishing 4-for-5 at the plate with three runs scored and four RBIs.
Chairez scored the first run of the day after leading off with a double and stealing third in the bottom of the first.
The Tigers slowly built up an 8-1 lead before bursting the game wide open in the bottom of the eighth with 10 runs on seven hits and two West LA errors.
Jack Wheaton picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers, finishing with seven strikeouts.
Riverside looks to keep rolling as it hosts Citrus College on Friday at 3 p.m.
