Tigers Walk Off Against Huskies
No. 6-ranked Riverside City College scored first and had to score last to grab a 4-3, walk-off win over East Los Angeles College.
The Tigers remain undefeated at 5-0 on the year, while the Huskies slip to 0-5.
Johnny Alley led RCC with a 2-for-4 performance, while Josh Chairez (1-for-3), Noah Haros (1-for-3), Luke Medure (1-for-2) and Bubba Heidler (1-for-1) also had hits in the game.
RCC struck first with three runs in its first chance at the plate, but East LA slowly started to chip away at the lead. The Huskies tied the game in the top of the ninth, putting pressure on the Tigers to come away with a run in the bottom half of the frame to grab the walk-off without extra innings.
With bases loaded and one out, Logan Clear stepped up to the plate and drew a rogue pitch to the body to send in the winning run, 4-3.
The Tigers and Huskies close out the series on Saturday at 5 p.m., this time in Los Angeles.
