Wilson Leads 11 Tigers in SCFA Southern League Postseason Honors

Riverside City College saw 11 Tigers earn postseason honors, led by Bryan Wilson, who was named the Southern California Football Association National-Southern Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year.

Wilson, who also earned first-team offensive honors, finished his freshman campaign with a 66.9 percent completion rate, averaging 217.7 yards per game on 164 completions (245 attempts). He threw 19 touchdown passes, while also running in seven himself. Wilson finished the year with 78 carries for 39.4 yards per game.

Trinidad Wilson, Brandon St. Aubin, Timothy Tynan, Dominic Cox, and Kayvion Sibley also grabbed first-team offensive distinction, while Micah Valenzuela and David Lene picked up first-team defensive honors. All eight first-team honorees were unanimous selections.

Marquis Monroe, Beau Bruins, and Ty Staples rounded out the Tiger selections with second-team honors.

Trinidad Wilson and St. Aubin both helped limit the opposing team's interactions with Bryan Wilson. The two sophomore offensive linemen kept RCC's sacks down to 16 on the year and helped the Tigers boast a 43 percent third-down conversion rate, along with a 56 percent fourth-down conversion percentage.

Tynan accounted for 101 points for Riverside, making 16 field goals on the year, including his longest for 38 yards, and 53 extra points.

Cox finished the year with 75 receptions, averaging 109.6 receiving yards per game. The sophomore wide receiver scored 11 touchdowns, including one for 75 yards.

Sibley was the Tigers' go-to rusher, carrying the ball 109 times this season to average 103.3 yards per game. The freshman running back scored 10 rushing touchdowns, including one for 80 yards. Sibley also had 17 receptions, including two touchdown passes.

Valenzuela led the Tigers with 111 total tackles on the year, including 59 solo efforts. The freshman linebacker had 1.5 sacks for four yards and 5.5 tackles for loss totaling 15 yards. He also recovered a fumble for RCC.

Lene posted 59 total tackles (42 solo tackles) on the year as a linebacker, including 5.5 sacks totaling 40 yards. The sophomore had 15.5 tackles for loss (62 yards), an interception and recovered a fumble.

Monroe finished with 66 carries for RCC, averaging 80.7 yards per game, and scored six rushing touchdowns – including one for 88 yards. The sophomore running back also caught nine passes, including one for 25 yards.

Bruins grabbed 14 receptions on the year, totaling 120 yards on the year, and scored two receiving touchdowns.

Staples finished the year with 28 total tackles, including 16 solo stuffs, and grabbed three interceptions at defensive back for Riverside.
