No. 13-ranked Riverside City College exploded on offense for a 62-49 victory over Palomar College Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers improve to 3-2 on the year, 1-1 in the National-Southern League, while the Comets drop to 1-4 overall, 0-2 in conference.
RCC finished with an impressive 819 total offensive yards – the most yardage since 2013 when the Tigers posted 812 offensive yards. Bryan Wilson threw for 412 yards (27-of-37) and had five touchdown passes. The freshman also ran in a touchdown.
Kayvion Sibley ran for 204 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns, while Dominic Cox grabbed 14 receptions for 232 yards and caught four touchdown passes. Beau Bruins also caught a touchdown pass.
Timothy Tynan was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and 8-for-8 on extra point attempts to help the Tigers score 14 points. He also had two punts, including one that landed just inches outside the endzone.
Defensively, Micah Valenzuela had six tackles, including three solo efforts, while Sean Saavedra finished with five tackles. David Lene had four solo stuffs, including two tackles for loss and an eight-yard sack. Ty Staples, Sha'Heem Taylor and Matthew Lashley (two) each intercepted the ball for the Tigers.
Riverside has a bye week before returning to action on Oct. 11 as it heads to Chaffey College for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
