RCC Posts Strong Finishes at Early Bird Invite

Riverside City College took third at the RCC Early Bird Invite on Friday, with throwers posting solid results in the new throwing facility.

Victoria Redd won the discus with a throw of 42.02 meters, almost two full meters further than the runner-up.

Sara Brittin took second in the javelin with a throw of 33.83 meters, while Madyson Esqueda placed third with a mark of 31.69 meters.

Alexandra Franco finished third in the hammer throw, posting a mark of 37.47 meters.

RCC went one-two in the high jump, with Kierstin Marpaung winning with a jump of 1.45 meters. Beau Hocking followed in 1.40 meters.

Tiana Burgess won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.82 seconds and took second in the triple jump, clearing 11.21 meters.

Riverside heads to the Ron Kamaka Multi next week, hosted at Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday and Friday.
