Riverside Posts Top 10 Finishes at Ben Brown Invite
Riverside City College took on tough, four-year competition at the Ben Brown Invitational, hosted by Cal State Fullerton, Thursday and Friday.
Orlando Collins grabbed the highest individual finish for RCC, taking fourth overall in the 400-meter race with a time of 47.75 seconds.
Dillon Burhop took fifth in the 3K steeplechase, clocking in at 11:10.89.
Aden Johnson and Ahkil McClellan each finished in the top 10 of the 400-meter hurdles as Johnson took sixth in 54.45 seconds and McClellan followed in eighth with a time of 55.58 seconds.
Jacob Sayed finished in the top five of the pole vault, hitting 4.00 meters to tie for fifth. Kai-lynn Keo also grabbed a top-10 finish in the long jump, posting a jump of 6.85 meters.
RCC saw two throwers finish in the top 10 of the discus as Omar Sanchez took sixth (47.68 meters) and Joseph Garcia grabbed eighth (47.15 meters).
Edward Moody and La'Darrian Watkins both hit the 1.86 meter mark on the high jump to tie for 10th overall.
Jace Collins finished in 10th overall in the shot put, grabbing a mark of 14.90 meters.
The Tigers' 4x400 relay team highlighted the event with a second-place finish in 3:15.54, while the 4x100 relay team took sixth overall in 41.91 seconds.
Riverside heads to the Redlands Invite next week on Friday.
