Tigers Close Out OEC Conference with Exclamation Point

Riverside closed out the regular season with a 9-0 shutout over Orange Coast College on Thursday.

The Tigers improve to 15-3 on the year and finish conference with a 6-2 OEC mark. The Pirates drop to 9-10 overall and 4-4 in the OEC.

All three doubles matches were decided quickly by Riverside as Charalampos Plataniotis and Lucas Koitka shut out their opponents, while Ronith Sreeram/Giovanne Recchia and Matias Almeida/Ethan Lee grabbed 8-1 victories.

Lee followed with another shutout in singles competition, posting 6-0, 6-0 wins, while Sreeram and Koitka won 6-0, 6-1.

Riverside shifts its focus to the postseason, beginning with the Orange Empire Conference Tournament next week, Thursday and Friday.
