RCC Grabs Fifth-Straight Victory

Riverside City College picked up its fifth-straight win with a 7-2 victory on the road at San Diego City College Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers improve to 5-0 on the year, while the Knights drop to 1-2 overall.

Matias Almeida and Ethan Lee got things off to a good start with an 8-2 doubles win, followed by Charalampos Plataniotis and Vinicius Magrin grabbing an 8-5 doubles victory to help put RCC up 2-1 heading into singles action.

Almeida once again was the first to finish, grabbing a 6-1, 6-0 win over his singles opponent, while Lukas Koitka, Plataniotis, Giovanne Recchia and David Rose also won their singles matchups.

Riverside looks to keep rolling as it heads to another four-year school on Saturday, taking on Pomona Pitzer at 11 a.m.
