RCC Battles to Claim Victory Over Ventura

Riverside City College hosted Ventura College in nonconference action Tuesday afternoon and grabbed a 5-4 victory.

The Tigers improve to 11-2 on the year, while the Pirates drop to 8-5 overall.

Matias Almeida and Ethan Lee got things started with an 8-6 doubles win before Charalampos Plataniotis and Vinicius Magrin battled to take their doubles match 8-4 to put the Tigers up 2-1 early.

Almeida kept rolling with a 6-2, 6-1 singles win, followed by Magrin (7-5, 6-2) and Giovanne Recchia (7-6 (7-3, 6-1) sealing the team victory for the Tigers.

RCC heads to Santa Barbara City College on Thursday for a 2 p.m. matchup, looking to keep building momentum.
