Tigers Open Season in Dominant Fashion
Riverside City College opened its season Saturday in dominant fashion, grabbing a 9-0 victory over Porterville College.
The Tigers start the year 1-0, while the Pirates open with a 0-1 record.
Charalampos Plataniotis and Matias Almeida grabbed the first win of the day with an 8-0 doubles win, before the pairs of Giovanne Recchia/Vinicius Magrin and Ronith Sreram/Ethan Lee followed in a similar fashion.
RCC continued its dominance in singles action, allowing just four points for Porterville. All six singles contests were won in two sets, with Lucas Koitka and Bryan Tapia each shutting out their opponents 6-0, 6-0.
The Tigers remain at home to host Bakersfield College on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m.
