Tigers Keep Unbeaten Streak Going

Riverside City College kept rolling with its fourth-straight win, grinding out a 5-4 victory over Glendale College Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers improve to 4-0 on the year, while the Vaqueros drop to 4-1 overall with their first loss of the season.

RCC took two of the three doubles contests to start with a 2-1 lead. Charalampos Plataniotis and Vinicius Magrin grabbed an 8-4 victory to get things going, before Matias Almeida and Ethan Lee followed with an 8-5 win.

Glendale won the No. 4, No. 6, and No. 2 singles spots to go up 3-2, but Almeida took his matchup 7-5, 6-4 and Plataniotis won in the No. 3 spot (3-6, 6-4, 10-8) to tie things up. It came down to the No. 1s, where Ronith Sreeram battled to a 6-4, 6-3 victory to give the Tigers the team win.

The Tigers look to keep gaining momentum and head to San Diego City College on Thursday for a 2 p.m. contest.
