Spaulding Earns Spot in 3C2A State Championship
Riverside City College took seventh as a team at the 3C2A SoCal Regional on Monday, while one Tiger earned his spot in the 3C2A State Championship next week.
The Tigers finished with a 316 in the first round before shaving 20 strokes off in the second round (296) to finish with a 612 on the day.
Ashton Spaulding led RCC with a 150 (79-71) two-round score to finish 15th overall and secure a spot in next week's state championship.
Jack Wasserman took 32nd overall with a 155, shooting an 81 in the first round but turning around to card a 74 in the second round. Rigo Navarro boasted a 155 as well, shooting a 79 and 76 on the day, while Elijah Gonzalez finished with a 158 (83, 75). Blake Richert finished with a 163 on the day (77, 86).
Michael Viene competed in the first round, finishing with an 82, while Ian Kim came in the second round with an 84.
Spaulding heads to SilverRock Resort in La Quinta, Calif., for the 3C2A State Championship, held May 10-11.
