RCC Takes Third at Host OEC Tournament

Riverside City College took third at its Orange Empire Conference tournament on Monday, shooting two over (290).

The College of the Desert won the event with a 275, followed by Victor Valley College in second with a 281. Orange Coast College also carded a 290, but the Tigers earned third after the tiebreaker went to the fifth-place scorers on each team.

Elijah Gonzalves led Riverside with a two-under 70, while Rigo Navarro and Jack Wasserman each posted 73's. Blake Richert rounded out the top four with a 74, and Ashton Spauling gave RCC third place with a 75.

Michael Viene finished with a 77 to put all six Tigers under 80 for the first time this year.

Riverside looks to carry momentum into its next OEC competition, heading to Victor Valley on Monday.
