Women’s Tennis’ Strong Doubles Play Highlights Victory Over Fullerton

The Riverside City College women's tennis team hosted the Fullerton College Hornets in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) action on Tuesday afternoon in gloomy conditions. Despite the weather, the Tigers performed well and reeled in a victory by the final score of 6-3.

The Tigers swept doubles play to set the tone early. Sophomore Ellia Rosado (Riverside, CA) and freshman Heather Graf (Yucaipa, CA) dominated as the top pair with a final count of 8-1. Freshman Emilia Lopez (Norco, CA) and sophomore Autumn Keay (Running Springs, CA) followed with a 8-5 at the twos, while freshman tandem Mikahela Kahler (San Bernardino, CA) and Jolene Beaulieu (Riverside, CA) followed with the same winning outcome at the number three.

Rosado helmed the singles as the top player and worked towards a 6-2, 6- victory. Keay followed with a 6-1, 6-1 at the three, while Lopez backed her with a 6-3, 7-5 win at the four.

The Tigers (9-4, 4-2 OEC) sit third place in conference and will continue action against the Saddleback College Gauchos at home on Thursday, March 15th at 2 p.m.
