SEAL BEACH -- Shooting a collective team score of 374, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's golf team finished third at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match at Navy GC, hosted by Cypress College last Wednesday (Mar. 8).
Orange Coast won the match with a team score of 363, followed by host Cypress (366) and then Riverside City (374). Saddleback was fourth (382), followed by OEC-hosted Mt. San Antonio (395) and Irvine Valley (414).
Gaining medalist honors was Dylan Hall of Cypress, who shot a 68. Tetsu Kase and Jeremy Dorff of Orange Coast each shot a 71, as did Austin Briggs of Saddleback.
Leading the way for RCC was sophomore Everett Najera (Corona - Corona HS '15), who shot an ever-par 72.
RCC sophomore Jordan Sams (Lake Arrowhead / Rim of the World HS '10) -- who is pictured -- shot a 77, and freshman Brian Nielsen (Riverside - Poly HS) fired a 78. RCC freshman Michael Herrera (Moreno Valley - Valley View HS '16) was next with an 83
Riverside will next compete on Monday, Mar. 13, when it visits the Tijeras Creek Golf Course for an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match which will be hosted by Saddleback College at 9 a.m.
